Original Abstract

The presented paper deals with a new method for measurement of the differential rotation rate of the solar photosphere. This method is based on shift measurement using the phase correlation, which does not require any tracing points and long observation over many days and weeks. The method was applied on images taken at 1700- A by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA), a part of the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) mission. The results of our measurements are latitudinal dependences of the sidereal rotation period determined from couples of images.

Keywords

Sun, differential rotation, phase correlation, shift measurement.
