Original Abstract

Indoor daylighting is one of the factors which influence quality of the interior environment of the building. Daylighting in interior spaces depends, inter alia, on height and width of window. The illuminance level in the room is quantified using the daylight factor. This article presents the comparison of values of the daylight factor in assessed rooms that differ in window size from each other. The compared rooms are not shaded by external or internal obstacles and are designed with the same parameters (e. g. geometry of the room, reflectance of interior surfaces, reflectance of the terrain, glazing properties, CIE overcast sky model) and the parameters that change are window size and height of window sill. The calculation of the daylight factor was performed using the WDLS software.
