Original Abstract
The study of non-freezing heat transfer liquids has been done, identyifying the 1,3-alcohols as promising chemicals for preparing new non-freezing heat transfer media for use in the solar heating systems. The candidates for preparing such media were found to be 1,3-propanediol and glycerol. The price and patent research was done identifying that such chemicals are used in solar heating systems poorly. Following the experimental results of authors diploma thesis the non-toxic, non-freezing heat transfer media was prepared. The media is a mixture of water, glycerol and 1,3-propanediol with different volume concentrations. The experimental evaluation of its basic characteristics was done. Proposed system on the platform of glycerol and 1,3-propanediol is cheaper than other non-toxic systems on the platform of propane-1,2-diol, which are oftenly used in solar heating systems. Actual pricing of the chemicals is presented in this work showing the saving of money when using the new non-freezing solar media based on glycerol and 1,3-propanediol.
