Original Abstract

Assessment of contamination levels of the water ecosystem with polychlorinated biphenyls was evaluated in different fish samples (muscle, skin, viscera) from the Brno water reservoir. There were examined 24 fish, of which 8 predatory and 16 omnivorous. We conduct our analysis using HRGC on two different columns connected in parallel to one injection port with two ECD detectros at their ends. We focused our attention on PCB indicator congeners no. 28, 52, 101, 118, 138, 153 and 180, and the sum of PCBs. Samples of water and sediment taken from the reservoir were examined together with samples of fish tissues.
