Original Abstract

Paper discuss the possible use of the special nozzle, which is based on the principle of the fluid oscillator. The vortex motion of fluid causes non-stationary velocity and pressure field. As a result this forms the pulsation of the outlet jet. The function of fluid oscillator is based on the instability of the shearing layer in the fluid. This flows through the special - shaped chamber, which supports the non-stationary velocity vortex. We can apply the above-mentioned principle in wastewater technology, especially for mixing and aeration (mainly with oxygen) of activated sludge. Apart from this, the system offers other applications, e.g.: continual mixing and dosing chemicals to the wastewater or spraying of biological filters. The aim of this constribution is to demonstrate, how to construct the fluid nozzle for mixing and aeration of activated sludge as well as the application in technology of wastewater treatment.
