Original Abstract

The Lower heating value (LHV) is the key parameter influencing economy. The LHV of municipal solid waste (LHVW) is computed by processing set of operational data from a real waste-to-energy plant recommended by the Reference document on the Best Available Techniques for Waste Incineration (BREF/BAT). It is necessary to determine the LHVW for calculation of combustion chamber efficiency. The efficiency was calculated by three different methods: the direct, the indirect and the "modified" indirect method. Each method is variously sensitive to an input parameters measurement error. It can eliminate the error in measurement or input parameters.
