Original Abstract

This paper deals with the analysis of promising environmentally compatible, electrical insulating fluids for electrical engineering. In the experimental part properties were evaluated rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, olive oil and methyl esters contained in natural oils. Dielectric properties were measured using precision LRC meter Agilent 4980 with including dielectric liquid test fixture Agilent 16452A. Electrical properties of the above-mentioned oils are presented in the frequency domain in the 20 Hz – 1 MHz range in the temperature interval in the -20 C – 90 C frequency range. The paper goes on with the study of the suitability of individual oils for lower temperature, including the impact of the chemical structure and formulation on dielectric and rheological properties.
