Original Abstract

A steerable array of microphones has the potential to replace the traditional head-mounted or desk-stand microphone as the input transducer system for acquiring speech data in many applications. The common objective of a microphone array is speech enhancement, robust speech recognition and speaker localization. In this paper, three types of the speaker localization methods are presented: Steered Beamformer Based Locators, High-Resolution subspace based Locators and Time Delay Estimate Based Locators.
