Original Abstract
The aim of this article is to compare possibilities of the ontology usage in automation. In the first part there is the ontology definition and its generic form discussed as well as the connection between ontology and semantic web. In the second part, there are shown the possibilities of the ontology usage in automation, especially usage of ontology as metadata storage. The last part of the article is showing ontology work directly on sensors. Cooperating with computing system, this ontology should be able to work with sensor process data and to analyze these data.
