Original Abstract

Curved cable stayed and suspension bridges are studied in the terms of the architectural and structural solution, and static and dynamic behaviour. The function of these structures is being verified on a static model built in the scale 1:10. The studied structures are formed by curved concrete bands that are stiffened by steel pipes on their inner edges. The bridges of the span of 60 m are in a plan curvature that in pathways axis have a radius of 32 m. Both the concrete band and the steel pipes are fixed into the anchor blocks. The external cables that are situated in the handrail pipe balance the dead load torsional moment. The paper will describe the studied structures, results of the analysis and the model testing.
