Original Abstract

The overall low-cyclic elastic-plastic behaviour of brittle composites reinforced by ductile inclusions is examined and a possible microfracturing of matrix around softer inclusions is incorporated into a model. The model, originally developed to treat the composite elasticity, is based on Eshelby's solution of an ellipsoidal inclusion and Mori-Tanaka's concept of average stress in the matrix.
