Abstract The calculations of phase diagrams for the system Fe-C-Cr-Mn-Si-Mo-V-Ni(-W) was carried out and results were compared with the experimental results for several commercial steels with low Cr content (up to 1.5 wt.%). These steels were studied after their long-term exploitation (over 100 000 hours) in turbine casings of classical power plants. The prediction of the stability of carbidic phases, which can have significant influence on mechanical properties at higher temperatures in such steels, is important for long-term exploitation of those materials in power plant industry.
