Original Abstract

New trends in the utilization of the microcomputer in engineer work are enforced and realized in practice very quickly. Our temporary graduates have limited possibilities to get acquainted with these trends. The reasons being both relatively obsolete equipments situated in common laboratories with limited number of microcomputers available and sometimes small experiences of the tutors in this area. To improve this situation new courses Computational Physics and Computers in Experiment were established. Tutors of these subjects are experienced users of microcomputers and during these lessons students work in a well equipped special laboratory. In Computational Physics the students by means of suitable software (Excel, MathCad, Czech system Famulus) solve the physical assignments. The course Computers in Experiment is primarily devoted to hardware problems of microcomputer application in experiment and to special software products for control of the devices and virtual instrumentation for these experiments. In this paper the description of both courses is presented.
