Original Abstract

This contribution deals with a concept for improving spatial filter based velocity measurement devices by adaptively adjusting the filter characteristics. Firstly, the properties of some typical real surfaces are analysed and discussed. Secondly, an adaptive spatial filter for suppression of periodic surface characteristics is introduced. The proposed spatial filter is then compared to the conventional spatial filter. Finally, the benefits of the proposed adaptive spatial filter are discussed.
