Original Abstract

Since 90s years the renewed interest of the last century in accelerator driven systems for transmutation of nuclear spent fuel generates issues of new possible fluoride systems which can be used as potential heat carrier in this technology. Therefore in the framework of the join project of ENERGOVÝZKUM, Ltd, Brno and Brno University of Technology – Institute of Power Engineering studies on selected issues of this technology have been started and an experimental facility called FLUORIDA was developed and installed in the laboratory in the years 2000. The purpose of the facility is to study experimentally thermodynamic properties of molten fluoride salts. At present acid potassium fluoride has been investigated. A design of the apparatus for density determination is described in the first part of the poster. An evaluation of measured results is presented in the second part.
