Original Abstract

H.Haken stipulated five types of new "qualities" that are created by means of cooperative effects: (i) Emergence of spatial patterns, (ii) Emergence of temporal structures, (iii) Emergence of structures that function in a pulse regime, (iv) Emergence of solitons, (v) Emergence of spirals and "hypercycles" in biosystems. Prigogine and the Brussels School developed a thermodynamic approach to self-organization processes. The basic notion used in building the theory of self-oraganization processes is that of dissipative structures. Non-equilibrium thermodynamics deals with open systems.
