Original Abstract

The article includes the results of research of thermodynamic effects in flat-surface grinding with the aim of eliminating generation of undesirable tensile residual stress in the surface layer and preventing other negative effects due to the thermal degradation of the surface. There are shown results of experiments in roller burnishing of grinded surface layer.
