Original Abstract

Comparative analysis of seismic response of selected structures to the typical mining induced seismic event formulated for an important mining area has been carried out. The group of structures has included twelve-storey panel building, four-storey dwelling house, five-storey reinforced concrete production shop, reinforced concrete stack and reinforced concrete cooling tower. Sophisticated FEM models of structures have been developed. The responses of structures have been computed using both base acceleration time histories and corresponding response spectra. Selected features of seismic responses have been compared.
