Original Abstract

This article describes design, manufacture and placing of light weight self compacting concrete (LWSCC) LC 35/38 D 1.8 used for precast elements of the Sports Stadium Eden in the Capital of the Czech Republic (football club SK Slavia Praha). Use of LWSCC was preceded by researches carried out at the Faculty of civil engineering at the Brno University of Tchnogy and the results of these researches were used in this study. The construction of the Volkswagen Arena in Wolksburg in Deutschland used light weight self compacting concrete LC 25/28 D 1.6 for several structural elements (in particular the top side-walk way of the Arena). On the basis of this reference, the investor of the sports stadium Eden decided to use LWSCC for nearly all prefabricated L-shaped benches and staircase steps and side-walk way.
