Original Abstract

The interstate I-5 bridge of total length of 604.9 m is described in terms of its architectural and structural solution and a process of the construction. The bridge consists of the main bridge crossing the river and approaches crossing the local highway and railways. The main bridge is formed by two arch spans of length 118.877 and 126.786 m. The deck that is formed by two girders and a deck slab is stiffened by cross beams, the arches are formed by two ribs without any bracing. The bridge was designed on the basis of a very detailed static and dynamic analysis.
