Original Abstract

The research presented in this article is focuses on a possible application of bonded anchor types, namely in the connection of a steel beam with a face plate to a reinforced concrete column. The behaviour of this joint is influenced by a number of factors. Besides material characteristics of individual parts of the joint, the placement of anchors in the joint, the position of reinforcement with respect to individual anchor bolts, the face plate thickness and dimension and distances of the edges of the concrete column from anchor bolts play all an important role. Thus, the joints in which the column reinforcement is purposely designed with regard to the beam connection will behave differently from those in which this is not the case. The experiments described in this article were conceived for the connection of the steel beam to the reinforced concrete column without a specific reinforcement for the joint area.
