Original Abstract

An oroginal 3D numerical off-line model of the temperature field of a billet caster has been developed. This numerical model is capable of simulating the temperature field of a caster as a whole, or any of its parts. The on-line version will automatically set the technological parameters of the casting process in order to achieve the required quality of the cast steel.
