Original Abstract

Images in digital video broadcasting employ compression. Natural images are lossy compressed which can leads to compression artifacts appearing. The scope of the article is to increase compression efficiency by applying higher compression for transmitted images and evaluating post-processing methods in settop-box. A low-complex post-processing technique is evaluated. Proposed solution is suitable for decreasing downloading time of the images in digital video broadcasting services.
