Original Abstract

The influence of the atmospheric air plasma treatment on the surface properties of paper was investigated. This contribution presents results of the surface energy evaluation and AFM study of the paper material treated by the plasma. Office paper, coated paper and tracing paper were used as a tested material. The surface energy was evaluated by means of contact angle measurement. Significant increase in the surface energy of office and coated paper with increasing the plasma treatment time was observed. The changes neither in the surface energy nor in the morphology of the tracing paper were observed.
