Original Abstract

This study focuses on the evaluation of experimentally obtained data using FEM software modelling in Ansys Mechanical APDL. Fatigue testing took place on two stainless-steel specimens of I cross-section loaded in three-point bending with stress ratio of 0.1 and 0.3 and values of crack mouth opening displacement (CMOD) were measured. To analyze the data 3D modelling was compiled as a tool to determine fracture parameters. Results were compared using generally well-known Paris’ law, as a fitting of linear part of crack growth rate in relation to stress intensity factor range.
