Original Abstract

In the Czech Republic (CR) small dams are those with the height up to 9 m and reservoir volume lower than 2 mil. m3. In CR there are about 20 000 small dams and 4000 km of flood dikes, belonging mostly to the lowest consequence classes (3th a 4th category). Numerous installations suffer from extensive seepage and internal erosion. This paper summarizes incidents of small dams and dikes in CR during the last 2 decades.
