Original Abstract

The paper is aimed on simulations of a UAV swarm. The first part of the paper presents a UAV swarm overview, application areas and two main kinds of a UAV swarm control, i.e. with/without base station. The second part of this paper discuss possibilities and problems in a UAV swarm simulations. The main part of this paper offers our own proposal how to simulate a UAV swarm. The proposal is architecture, which contains 3 main parts - Our own logic unit, which is responsible for data processing, decisions and actions of device, Gazebo as realistic simulation environment and ROS as a bridge between Gazebo and our logic unit. Additionally, simple simulation of multiple UAVs was done, however the UAVs were controlled manually. In future work, we are going to implement the proposed architecture.
