Original Abstract

The steel fibre reinforced concrete has been used as a building material in civil engineering frequently for several years. Also in military engineering, some protective structures are built from steel fibre reinforced concrete because of its suitable properties. In the past years non-destructive testing has come to the forefront of interest in the field of building diagnostics. A complete lack of approved methods and procedures dealing with the fibre reinforced concrete testing has led to many experiments with regular non-destructive methods with aim to assess their relevance to the testing of structural elements made from fibre reinforced concrete. The article describes an experiment where compression strengths, determined by a non-destructive method (hardness, ultrasound) and by a destructive method, are compared.
