Original Abstract

Magnetising current sources used in NDT based on the magnetic particle methods have to guarantee magnetizing of the tested product into magnetic status when leakage fluxes rise above the crack or another macro defect. As known magnetising the ferromagnetic material beyond the maximum permeability fulfils the condition. For some technical materials it is deemed necessary to reach a magnetic field intensity 4 up to 5 kA/m by a magnetising source. Determination of this status is usually carried out by a conversion into a required magnetizing current quantity for a given configuration of a testing device. For this reason the magnetizing source is adjustable and the current quantity is indicated by a measuring instrument with an analogue or a digital display.
