Original Abstract

This article describes a method that enables embedding watermarks into audio signals. It is made in such a way that the embedded watermark is inaudible in a song but is robust enough to withstand potential attempts to remove it. This provides for its faultless extraction. The watermark embedding process uses a pseudorandom generator to define positions in the time-frequency space in which, using a suitable modification of the magnitude components of the signal, the embedded watermark is encoded in the MCLT (Modulated Complex Lapped Transform) domain. The extraction algorithm of the embedded watermark does not require knowing the original audio data for its working.
