Original Abstract

The first part of this paper reviews current approaches and methods used for modelling of struc-tural concrete columns. Several methods are presented and their benefits and drawbacks are discussed. In the second part, a transition between traditional shapes and organic forms is described together with an example of a real structure. An insight for design and assessment of members with organic geometrical forms is then given, including a proposal for an inner bio-inspired filing of the structural member itself.
