Original Abstract

The traditional maximum tangential stress (MTS) criterion uses for evaluation of fracture resistance curve under mixed mode I/II only stress intensity factors (SIF) for mode I and II. However, the concrete materials consist of various sizes of aggregates, which have influence on the crack initiation angle under the mixed mode I/II. In this paper, a generalized maximum tangential stress (GMTS) criterion is used to investigate influence of selection of critical distance on the crack initiation angle. Various critical radiuses are investigated (the lengths are selected according to size of process zone or maximum coarse and fine aggregates). The obtained results are discussed and compared with data known from literature.
