Original Abstract

This paper deals with methods of selecting a base station in the network for short-range data communication. A radio part of the network contains low power radio transceivers which use only one communication channel. The network is centralized type and we suppose using a MAC (Medium Access Control) protocol with guaranteed access. The designed method of selecting a BS is basis on a Received Signal Strength Indicator - the analogue output of the transceiver giving relative indication of received signal strength while in receive mode.
