Jedním z nejdůležitějších parametrů, potřebných pro posouzení stavu železobetonových konstrukcí, je určení počtu, druhu a rozmístění výztuže v jednotlivých průřezech konstrukce bez jejího porušení. K tomuto účelu bylo vyvinuto několik nedestruktivních metod kontroly, které však mají určitá omezení v dosahu a interpretaci výsledků. Jako metoda kontroly s nejvyšší vypovídací schopností se již po řadu let jeví radiografická metoda, jejíž vývoj stále pokračuje.

One of the most important parameters needed to assess the condition of reinforced concrete structures, is to determine the number, type and location of reinforcement in various cross-sections of the structure without its violation. For this purpose it developed several non-destructive methods of control, but they have limitations in range and interpretation of results. As a control method with the highest predictive capability has for many years seems radiographic method, in which the development continues.
