Original Abstract

The decision-making process of selection of a concrete supplier can be influenced by several factors. Emphasis is placed on transportation time, travel distance, type of concrete and required amounts of concrete during organizing concrete supply process. In this paper Web Mapping Application Programming Interface was used for generating, analyzing and comparing the concrete transport routes in pilot study. For specific construction site posi-tion 74 concrete plants and 182 routes were generated and analyzed. The results of these comparisons will benefit construction managers by helping them better understand the behaviour between transported time, distance and total cost for each concrete supply. The findings reveal that distance is not the only one appropriate criterion for decision-making process if the lowest total cost is needed.
