Original Abstract

This paper shows the possibilities of using Matlab for developing control algorithms. The algorithms are implemented as S-functions in ANSI C. After their testing on simulation models in Simulink they are trivially connected to a B&R PLC and tested with physical models. Because the B&R PLCs are programmable in ANSI C, this method allows the algorithms to be later easily ported to the PLC completely. This development method is used for implementation of control algorithms with neural networks. The implemented algorithms are: Direct inverse controller, Takahashi controller with constants set by neural network, Takahashi controller with neural identification of the process.
