Balistika se jakožto vědní obor zabývá pohybem a účinkem střely. Terminální balistika pak popisuje chování střely v momentě, kdy dopadá na cíl. Střelu přitom může reprezentovat malý projektil či dělostřele cká střela s plochou dráhou letu. Díky dnes již dostupným a komplexním hydrokódům dokážeme predikovat chování střely od jejího vystřelení až po dopad na cíl. Při rychlostech zatěžování, které překračují hranici rychlosti zvuku, se však do simulací musí čas to zavést pomocné numerické nástroje. Předmětem tohoto příspěvku je popis jednoduchého testu z oblasti terminální balistiky, rozbor numerické simulace tohoto testu a poukázání na několik nedostatků, které souvisejí s volbou zvoleného hydrokódu. Rovněž je popsán postup, jak lze uvedené nedostatky kompenzovat.

Ballistics as a scientific discipline deals with a movement and effect of a projectile. Terminal ballistics describes the behaviour of the projectile in the moment it hits its target. The projectile may be represented as a small bullet or an artillery cruise missile. Thanks to the hydrocodes which are nowadays available and complex we are able to predict the behaviour of the missile from the moment of fire to the moment of impact on the target. When loading speed exceeds the speed of sound it is often necessary to use additional numerical tools in the simulations. The paper describes a simple terminal ballistic test, an analysis of a numerical simulation of the test and description of some weaknesses associated with the hydrocodes. It also describes the procedure how to compensate for these shortcomings.
