Original Abstract

This paper reports the results of measurements by Impact-echo method on two applications in civil engineering. The results are obtained in the laboratory during the hardening process in quasi-brittle materials such as alkali-activated slag mortars and the degradation of composite materials based on cement by high-temperature (in the temperatures range from 200 °C to 1200 °C). The results of non-destructive testing of such samples by acoustic methods confirmed the differences in the structure of mortar specimens. A significant decrease of the absorbed frequencies was observed depending on the temperature. A shift of the dominant frequency to a lower value is a key indication of the presence of the flaw.
