Original Abstract

Concretes used in civil structures are usually made on ordinary Prtland cement (OPC) base. Alkali activated concrete (ACC) are considered as a perspective building material. They show high strength, good durability, and good resistance to aggressive agents etc. This paper introduces the values of the basic fatigue parameters of both concretes; the alakali-activated concrete is prepared as a new potential material for the potential production of concrete elements developed by ZPSV, a.s. company. The concrete mixtures have a similar using and therefore the fatigue parameters can be compared. To this aim, specimens were prepared and tested under static (compressive strength) and cyclic loading (fatigue parameters Wohler curve). The experimentally obtained results /both mechanical and fatigue) of both concretes are compared and the suitability of these types of composites for its application is discussed.
