Original Abstract

This contribution is devoted to searching of the damage causes to the boiler collector, which is periodically damaged between nozzles of collector. Thus, the place between the boiler nozzles was analysed by FEM (finite element method) which showed the damage is not caused by static (respectively quasi-static) strain. Based on these results, CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analyses was performed on the tube bundle. This analyses revealed formation of vortex excitations behind the tubes. In the process of formation of these cracks are involved more together linked factors. This contribution is devoted to find importance of the tube bundle support on the cracks formation. It is expected that the formation of these cracks is caused by vortex excitations. These vortex excitations may lead to tube vibration. Real cracks on the collector is forms with period 4 to 5 years and frequency of vortex excitation is circa 7 to 20 Hz.
