Original Abstract

Corrosion of steel reinforcement accompanies the lives of most reinforced concrete structures. Expansion of corrosion has a negative effect on the properties of these structures and has resulted in a reduction of their lifetime. For the reduction of cases of irreversible damage caused by corrosion, it is important to detect the corrosion timely. Non-destructive methods offer new possibilities for testing the damage to the building constructions. These methods can early detect initial damage. One of them is Impact-Echo method as a traditional acoustic method of non-destructive testing. The comparative measurements were carried out using electrical resistance when the Thomson double bridge was used for measurements of electrical resistance of reinforcing steel.
