Original Abstract

The paper aims to demonstrate ways in which the theory of soft computing can be applied to business operations, specifically to the supply chain management. It is an attempt to show how selected methods of soft computing (fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms) can be successfully utilized for the issue of inventory management and lot-sizing problem with outstanding results. In this paper it is proved that according to up-to-date researches, soft computing is a suitable method for application to inventory management optimization with many opportunities for future research.
