Original Abstract

In this work is presented Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) as a type of untraditional actuator for moving, especially stepping robots. There is description of Shape Memory Effect (SME) principle. Advantages and disadvantages of this compositions and it’s using in application are discussed. There are considered the types of the controlling SME and problems with physical modeling of the behaviour of SMA. In a part of this paper is enlargement stepping robot, which was designed with SMA actuators implemented. Bellow is also introduced concise survey of other fields and applications where are SMA used.
