Original Abstract

The experiment planning in soft tissue mechanical tests is not quite simple because of their nonlinear elastic orthotropic properties. In testing of isotropic hyperelastic materials (e.g. rubberlike materials), the tests in uniaxial tension and compression and pure shear, as well as tests in equibiaxial tension and compression are used. For the more complex (orthotropic) mechanical behaviour of soft tissues more complex mechanical tests are needed.
