Original Abstract

The aim of the presented work is the analysis of the influence of lateral-torsional buckling on the behaviour of an imperfect biaxial symmetrical hot-rolled thin-walled open I-beam under bending. Pin-ended I-beams subjected to bending have much greater stiffness and strength in the plane in which the loads are applied (major axis) than in the plane of the minor axis.
