Original Abstract

Concrete with 0, 5 and 10 % of condensed silica fume is studied in this paper. Effective fracture toughness and fracture energy were determined from three-point bending tests on central edge notched specimens. Ages of these specimens were 28, 90, 180 and 365 days. Characteristic length is calculated as measure of brittleness of tested material. Input variables for this calculation are considered as random variables, described by mean values and standard deviations obtained from experiments. Monte Carlo simulation of characteristic length using VaP software is performed.
