Original Abstract

In the Ploučnice (Polzen) River area an interesting group of Late Cretaceous clinopyroxene-free melilitic rocks - polzenites - was defined by K.H. Scheumann in 1913. With regard to the results of combined mineralogical and geochemical research, these rocks can be considered as a valid end-member of the ultramafic lamprophyre group.
