On the project

A novel therapeutic option for patients with critical-sized skin wounds has emerged: 3D scaffolds. This project aims to prepare and evaluate a second generation collagen-based scaffold that mimics the dermis of the human skin grafted with hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs). For the adequate vascularization process dimethyloxalylglycine (DMOG) as HIF will be added to the scaffold to support cell proliferation, angiogenesis and to prevent cell death after application.
