On the project

In this project, a fully bioresorbable 3D printed scaffold will be enriched with liposomal antibacterial enzyme Lysostaphin to promote the bone healing process and prevent a bone infection osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus. The material for scaffold printing will be based on thermosensitive copolymer, chitosan, and calcium phosphate and will be enriched with liposomal Lysostaphin in two different approaches. The scaffolds will be characterized, and lysostaphin release and antibacterial properties of such material will be evaluated.
