On the project

This project aims to reveal the structure, morphology, and surface reconstruction of SrTiO3(110) surface by real-time Low Energy Electron Microscopy/Diffraction (LEEM/LEED). The surface phase transitions will be monitored under various oxygen chemical potential and Sr/Ti composition ratio near the surface. This study was already done by our collaborators at TU Wien, using Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM). My goal here is to develop a methodology that will be easier to perform, faster (weeks instead of years), and at least as reliable as STM.
